With its rich history since 1738, the Christianeum is the oldest high school in the west of Hamburg. In changing circumstances, it was and always is important for the Christianeum to find a convincing path between tradition and progress.The Christianeum has a profile in which classical languages are an essential pillar. Latin as the first foreign language is the traditional basic language of science; It trains young people's logical thinking and language skills in a special way.The Christianeum presents itself as a lively and versatile school with numerous connections all over the world. Seven languages are taught, in addition to the classical languages of Latin and Greek modern foreign languages such as English, Russian, Chinese, French and Spanish. However, the Christianeum is not a language grammar school; it also includes mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, religion and philosophy as well as dealing with the latest digital media.
