The Christmas Bowl® is a newly proposed NCAA postseason bowl game based in Los Angeles. The key members of the bowl's executive committee include: * Derek Dearwater - Co-Founder/CEO Christmas Bowl® * John Perles - Co-Founder/President Christmas Bowl® * George Perles - Legendary NFL & NCAA Coach and Founder/CEO of Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl* Todd Alles - Former Director of Football Operations at Ohio State University & University of AlabamaThe Christmas Bowl® promises to become the most benevolent bowl game in the postseason, as it's aligned exclusively with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. It's also supported by LA Mayor Eric Garcetti, the LA Memorial Coliseum, as well as a number of corporate sponsors. The new bowl will provide for a significant economic impact on the City of LA, estimated beyond $25 million.The changing landscape of the NCAA has proven to be challenging for all new bowl applications; however, it should be noted that in 2010 the Pac-10 and WAC Athletic Directors voted unanimously to align with the Christmas Bowl®. Unfortunately, the NCAA did not certify the new bowl in 2010, since a required "back-up" agreement from a 3rd conference wasn't available to support the Pac-10 #7 selection. The Christmas Bowl® now has a clear path to NCAA certification in the next licensing cycle in the 2014-15 bowl season. All necessary bowl resources are being assembled now for the 2014-15 season and beyond.
