Who We AreFounded in 2012, by Jeremy Watson, Chubo's team brings over two decades worth of intimate knowledge of Japanese craftsmanship and knife making with in-depth restaurant industry knowledge and an awareness of the needs of the world's top culinary professionals.Philosophy Chubo was created with the goal of sharing the immense and unparalleled talent of Japanese blacksmiths with chefs and culinary enthusiasts around the world. Despite the growing awareness and popularity of Japanese kitchen knives around the world, the number of people hand-forging blades, hand finishing edges and crafting handles decreases every year. We hoped through our business, we could contribute in a small way to preserving an ancient craft and vital source of tools for culinary world. Product Lines When we first started the company, we traveled around Japan meeting blacksmiths and searching out makers who were using traditional forging methods. The Japanese blacksmith world is quite a small and intimate one, so as the company's grown we've also been introduced to other blacksmiths in different regions in Japan. We continue to add to our product lines based on these growing relationships as well as from suggestions we receive from our customers in the culinary industry.CustomersIt is our honor to supply knives, kitchen tools and tableware for some of the finests chefs and restaurants in the world.
