Research - Chicago, Illinois, United States
At the University of Chicago's Ci3 we use games, storytelling, and design thinking to conduct research with and for adolescents. We aim to empower them to have agency over their bodies and futures as they emerge into adulthood. Ci3 is both a research hub through which we partner across the campus, the community, the city and, indeed, the world, as well as a series of creative laboratories. Ci3's three labs are devoted to: • designing games for social impact with and for young people through The Game Changer Chicago Design Lab• using storytelling to create new narratives about young people with The Transmedia Story Lab• using human centered design through, The Design Thinking Lab-our newest lab Through these labs we fuse creativity and experimentation to understand how games, stories, and apps, strengthen young people who are traditionally marginalized due to race, class, and/or sexual orientation. We learn through experimentation; making new research discoveries that are sustained through Ci3 driven policy initiatives.
