CIOOS integrates Canadian oceanographic data from multiple sources to make them accessible to end-users, from researchers, to the general public, to policy makers. Three regional associations have been established: Pacific, St. Lawrence, and Atlantic.CIOOS Atlantic is a consortium of partner institutions which are committed to the development of a data management and dissemination approach for oceanographic data from the Atlantic Seaboard, a region spanning from Labrador to the Maine / New Brunswick border.Meaningful engagement and ongoing communication with a broad variety of stakeholders is an integral component of CIOOS Atlantic, and we will work to meet the needs of the local oceanographic community and ensure regional interests are represented at the national level. Emphasis is placed on the creation of a system which promotes easy data access and supports the work of partners, researchers, industry, and more.
