Nonprofit Organization Management - Put, Maharashtra, India
It was to support cancer patients and their loved ones, beyond medicines and treatment, that Cipla started a world-class palliative care centre in 1997 in Warje, Pune. The Centre operates on a unique Family Care Model where the patient and caregiver is supported equally by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, medical social workers, pain specialist, physiotherapist, nutritionist & volunteers. We believe palliative care is Responsive Care that is personalised to suit the individual needs of patients and their loved ones. Additionally that palliative care is not just end-of-life care and it should start right from the time of diagnosis of a serious illness.Till date, the Centre has served over 18,000 patients with free-of-cost care through in-patient, homecare, out-patient and teleconsultation services.
