Cirkel is an e-commerce platform for consumer goods produced, sold and retrieved in line with the principles of the ‘Circular Economy’. It will be an open platform for sellers to come and retail their products. We begin by launching a single product (bed linen) that users can come to buy straight from our website. We then start adding makers (other seller partners). We also add to our own product line by creating newer items. The idea is to expand to a horizontal platform that brings a variety of consumer products conceived, manufactured, distributed and retrieved back responsibly. People would like to buy better and dispose better but the current solutions are too niche, hard to get and more often than not too expensive. There is a clear trend of buyers making more conscious purchase decisions along with the fact that more buyers would make such decisions if these products were more readily available. There is also market opportunity in helping people deal with what they discard.
