Banking - Princeton, Illinois, United States
Citizens First National Bank's roots in the community can be traced back to 1865, long before it took the name it carries today. As a matter of fact, Citizens First National Bank is the result of a merger of three local banks in an attempt to preserve the local economy following the stock market crash of October, 1929. The new bank opened its doors for business on January 1, 1930 in Princeton, Illinois, with $3,000,000 in assets and $150,000 in capital. From that day forward, Citizens has continued to grow. During the first quarter of 2007, Citizens opened its 21st location. The November acquisition of the Plainfield office of HomeStar Bank (Manteno, Illinois) provides another convenient location for customers in the Aurora, Oswego, Plainfield, Shorewood and Minooka areas. The office is located on Route 30 within 5 miles of the Citizens Aurora office and 10 miles of the Minooka office. Being a community bank means much more than just having an office in a certain location: it means a commitment to our customers in these communities and surrounding areas. Dedicated staff members, with a strong work ethic and unparalleled skills, form the strength of Citizens First National Bank.
