City Life Workshop is an adaptable organization suited to undertake a diverse array of roles within the field of urban design to create place-base change. Cities are ever changing and must embrace new and ever-changing design approaches in order to create innovation and progress. CLW utilizes alternate approaches, such as temporary, non-traditional and informal design, as well as bottom-up grassroots change. CLW made a very deliberate choice to make Detroit its home. Detroit offers the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals on projects which can have a long-lasting positive impact. CLW specializes in participatory community planning, landscape design, and urban design, yet collaborates within the local network of designers and doers to address many types of design challenges.
