The City of Wells, founded in 1869, is the governing body for Wells, MN, a south central Minnesota city with a population of 2,307 and 1,013 households. The City of Wells provides a full-time police department, volunteer fire department and ambulance, a community pool, a public library, a municipal liquor store, a municipal golf course and a municipally-owned theatre, called the Flame Theatre. The City employs 15 full time employees and about 35 part time employees. The Wells City Council meets the second and fourth Mondays at 5 pm at the Wells Community Center, 189 2nd St SE, Wells, MN 56097.
