Cityposh is creating a new game category called Offer Games which is a combination of branded casual games and sponsored prizes. Consumers get to play the kinds of casual games they always do on their computers and phones, but get a chance to win stuff in the process. For brands, the games are a valuable advertising opportunity: they're much more engaging than any kind of display ad, they improve social media metrics, and they don't minimize the value of a product through an artificially low price. People are competing to win! Cityposh has "soft launched" a destination site on the web and Facebook for the Offer Games they've built that already has several thousand participants and is growing at a 35-50% clip week over week. They've also been working with small and medium sized businesses to test the concept and see what kind of benefits are possible. For example, O'Reilly Media picked up several hundred new Facebook fans during a pilot experiment and saw engagement times of 25 minutes per person per day playing Cityposh's games.
