Civic Blueprint has worked on a variety of projects relevant to land development coding, urban design, and creation standards for public and private clients. We are authors, administrators, and users of all types of development ordinances. This experience provides special perspective and skill to know what works and what does not in the real world. We create ordinances that have been tested against potential developments to avoid the internal conflicts unnecessarily complicating development review. We strike a balance of protecting character, shaping new development based upon site context, and removing barriers to economic development through ordinances that are easy to understand and use. Clarity is achieved through well-organized documents written in plain English. Graphics reduce confusion about regulatory requirements. We are forward-thinking, addressing current and future needs. This is done through a good understanding of the local market. Markets are always changing. Our experience in the development community allows us to create ordinances addressing current needs while anticipating future trends. Because no ordinance can anticipate all possible futures, we provide tools for common sense flexibility of standards and guidance on the process for regular refinements to the ordinance to keep it future-focused.
