Construction - Success, Western Australia, Australia
The first version of Claycrete (I)™ was developed in 1995 by Brian Jackman, of Perth Western Australia, the trademark owner. The chemical principals for the ionic stabilisation of clay were well established but the methodology had not been refined for many years. The structural and cost benefits of being able to use stabilised clay as a void filler in road and runway construction would change clay from a problem to a very cost effective solution.Claycrete™ was developed using the latest chemical ingredients and the results exceeded expectations. In 1996 Claycrete™ II was developed to meet the demand for a road stabilisation agent for tropical climates. Claycrete™ II was able to create a stable pavement in short times even in high humidity.Unlike Claycrete (I), Claycrete (II) is certified as non harmful by the world body SGS and classified as not hazardous to transport (i.e. not a dangerous good).
