Clean Marine is dedicated to emission cleaning only and is recognized as a highly competitive supplier of Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (EGCS) - also called SOx scrubbers. Sulphur emissions from ships have since January 2015 been limited to 0.1% when sailing inside the Emissions Control Areas (ECA). Ship owners with trades in North Europe and US can choose to convert their vessels to new fuel types (e.g. LNG/LPG), burn more expensive low sulphur fuel, or install an EGCS (Exhaust Gas Cleaning System) and continue operation on one competitive fuel globally. Payback time for an EGCS is 1-2 years for vessels with a major part of their trade in ECA. Clean Marine is staffed with highly skilled personnel from both the maritime and the process industries. Our HQ is located at Lysaker/ Oslo, in Norway, but we have dedicated partners in all corners of the globe, bringing us closer to both ship owners and ship builders. The patented Clean Marine EGCS is specifically designed to meet the needs of the maritime industry: 1) Proven Allstream system: one SOx scrubbing unit serves all exhaust streams onboard (main engine, auxiliary engines and boilers) - making it a cost-efficient solution. 2) Futureproof system: no trade restrictions & close to neutral pH of washwater emitted to sea The bulk carrier MV Balder is equipped with a fully certified Clean Marine EGCS and was in 2013 the first vessel in the world to operate this type of system in the North American ECA. Clean Marine has been selected by owners like AET, Dorian LPG, Stolt Tankers and BP Shipping. In 2014 we won the prestigious "Tanker Technology Innovation Award".
