The ClearCollar greatly improves medical care to patients by providing a cervical collar that is transparent. This allows medical personnel to assess injuries to the neck without removing the cervical collar, thus reducing the risk of undetected injuries. Following an injury, changes in the neck may be a primary indicator of thoracic injury and the development of potentially life threatening conditions. The standard collar limits the ability of medical personnel to assess the neck for changes that may occur due to life threatening thoracic injuries.
