Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team is a local charity based in Great Ayton on the edge of the North Yorks Moors national park. We offer specialist search and mountain rescue services to those in need across the western part of the Moors, plus remote & inaccessible areas nationwide as a member charity of Mountain Rescue England and Wales.The Team was established in 1965 and we currently have over 40 Search and Rescue Team Members (including probationers) who are on call 24-hours a day every day of the year. We are all volunteers; we have no paid staff and our services are offered free to anyone who needs them. We are reliant on the generosity of local people and groups to cover the £42,000 it costs to run the Team every year.
