Cliff Garten Studio (CGS), located in Venice, California, believes that public sculpture can define our interaction and movement by creating energy between things, generating interest in public activity, reframing our private lives, and creating a sense of place within public and private realms. Through a diversity of materials, methods and scale, CGS reveals the artistic and expressive potential of public spaces and infrastructure in urban places.CGS has completed over fifty public projects throughout the U.S. and Canada, many of which are collaborations between architecture, landscape architecture or engineering. The Studio follows projects from concept through fabrication and installation, working with a wide range of innovative and environmentally sensitive materials. The Studio has over twenty years of experience working with community stakeholders, government entities, and businesses and maintains a staff capable of addressing the technical challenges of constructing art within complex urban contexts and landscapes.
