Climate Action Accelerator Details
Climate Action Accelerator (CAA) aims to mobilize a critical mass of community organizations in order to scale up climate solutions, contain global warming below 2°C and avoid the risk of dangerous runaway climate change.These organizations are key to reversing global warming, because their audiences, contributions to total greenhouse gas emissions and trend-setting potentials are significant and have been largely overlooked so far.Enabling them to work as a community, the CAA will help these organizations at least halve their own GHG emissions every decade from now on, become champions within their own ecosystems and deliver valuable transformational change.This will then trigger a domino effect for an exponential uptake and implementation of climate solutions across society.The CAA will operate as a not-for-profit association, whose mission and values will be formalized in an organizational Charter. Its team will contribute to the success of the programme through: ➜ Strong values and a shared sense of urgency ; ➜ A drive to operationalize climate action and make it happen➜ A spirit of collaboration to connect knowledge and experience with the needs of organizations➜ A cutting-edge expertise, in these three priority service sectors and a deep understanding of issues related to climate-induced crisis ;➜ An extensive international experience at with high levels of responsibility.➜ Wide-ranging networks with major players in the areas of aid, health and education.
