Founded in 1986, the Climate Institute is the world's first non-profit organization focused solely on climate change. Since its founding, the Institute has been instrumental in moving climate change onto the international agenda by fostering collaboration between developing and developed nations, launching and implementing pioneering studies and initiatives on subjects such as environmental refugees, transforming the energy infrastructure of small island states, and catalyzing policy maker focus on the necessity of limiting climate changing emissions.
