Computer Games - Half Moon Bay, California, United States
Our first game, Thresh Wars, was a browser-based, turn-based, sci-fi strategy game. TW was inspired by Games Workshop's real-world business of creating purchasable army units that player's craft and assemble into a personal army and battle with others for free. TW had solo AI missions, as well as PVP battles (up to 5v5).Post mortem: The game was loved by ~100,000 hardcore strategy gamers and the early monetization was promising. However, we took too long to get to profitability (rookie errors) and ran out of gas.screenshots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rikk/sets/72157607718705795/blog: http://threshwars.wordpress.com/Our second game was Cafe. Tagged.com hired us to build this successful casual restaurant game. Our third game was TW2525, a Facebook game and a prequel to ThreshWars. We mainly did this for the experience of building a Facebook game and see if TW had legs as a social game. We received an offer from a publisher to publish a 2.0 version of the game (to address monetization issues and increase growth), but the team felt it was time to let it go and move on to a new game. Our latest game is an iOS sports game: XO Football. This was inspired by the old Atari Cyberball 2072 arcade game. We wanted to create a football game that was simple and fun, but still retained the core strategy of American Football.
