The University of Zurich commodity club (CMDTY Club) was founded in autumn 2014 by University of Zurich students with highly diversified backgrounds and skillsets. The founding members share a passion for commodity trading; the business behind it and its consequences for the economy, politics and the environment. We have found that many university students are genuinely interested in this topic, yet its coverage in academia is quite small - we see our club as a structure to fill the gap between demand and supply. Through various channels we intend to meet student demand, allowing them to learn more about commodities and better their education.
