For over 10 years, we've been dedicated to promoting the benefits of music and the arts for youth with special needs. If your child shows a special spark for song, instruments, rhythm, or visual art, you've come to the right place. We're here to tap into your child's inner talents and motivations to cultivate growth in areas of need. We want to help your child 'get in the groove'!Ways we can help include adapted music lessons, music recording, DJ instruction, music therapy, and expressive arts. In addition, we work with school districts throughout San Diego county for support of educational achievement through music-based strategies via the IEP and staff training workshops. Our staff of board certified music therapists specialize in autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, Rett Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, neurologic impairments, and developmental disabilities. All ages and ability levels are welcome.Michelle Lazar, MA, MT-BC, Michigan native, founded Coast Music Therapy in order to expand opportunities available to San Diego County children and adolescents requiring creative approaches to learning and development. Each of our therapists bring something unique to our clients, whether it be Betsy's passion for the harp, Shaina's 'stop you in your tracks' voice, or Talia's intuitive and nurturing approach.
