When the Covid-19 pandemic forced people to shelter in place, a group of passionate educators got together to try and bring open-access introductory computer science education to the world. Led by some professors at Stanford, the Code in Place effort created a community of 10,000 students and volunteer teachers from all over the globe to come together in their love of learning and teaching.Code in Place 2020 ran for five weeks and covered the core fundamentals of introductory programming using the python programming language. This course does not count as a formal accreditation or endorsement from Stanford University in any capacity. It was taken by students purely for the joy of learning.
