Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt, founded in 1946 by American residents in Peru, is a non-sectarian, non-profit, independent school. Colegio Roosevelt is the official U.S. State Department Office of Overseas Education School in Peru and serves the international business and diplomatic community, as well as host country nationals seeking a North American-style of education. The program is co-educational, non-residential, and extends from Early Childhood (age 3) through twelfth grade. Colegio Roosevelt, an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, is accredited by AdvancED (formerly known as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and the Peruvian Ministry of Education. The language of instruction is English and students can earn a USA Diploma, the Official Peruvian Program certificate and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.EnrollmentThe total school enrollment is 1,721 with 450 students in Grades 9-12. Students come from 43 countries, with approximately 25% from the United States, 25% from other countries and 50% from Peru.Faculty and AdministrationThere are 232 faculty members: 133 Peruvian citizens, 75 United States citizens and 24 citizens of other nations. Specialists are employed in such areas as Reading, Guidance, English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Professional development for faculty is available through in-house workshops, regional conferences, university extension courses and summer study grants.
