CBR Forum was formed in 1996 to promote Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) benefiting persons with disabilities, their families and the community in rural areas. Caritas India is its legal holder. However, in 2011, Collective action for Basic Rights Foundation (CBRF), was registered as a separate society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, Delhi. Today, Collective action for Basic Rights Foundation (CBRF) touches the lives of 88,467 persons with disabilities in 4,806 Villages, 1,386 Gram Panchayats through 60 NGO Partners working in 20 States and 1 Union Territory of India.
