The College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Loni was established in the year 2003 as first private College in Maharashtra under the roof of Pravara Rural Education Society, Pravaranagar. College is offering four years undergraduate degree in B. Tech. Biotechnology (Now professional course and providing technical degree). The College is affiliated to Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri and approved by Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research, Pune. The B. Tech. (Biotechnology) a degree is recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi all over India. The College has been awarded grade ‘B' by the University Evaluation Committee in the year 2014-15.The prime objective of the course is to develop a skilled human resource for the rising Agri-Biotech and Pharma R & D industry. The course is designed to inspire and nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students.Graduate students passing out of the College has secured placements in Corporate Sector, Civil Service, Banking, College & University, Research and Development Industries related to Agriculture, Seed Production, Food Processing, Floriculture, Fertilizer, Pesticide, Winery and Agri. Machinery. The institution aims to start skill development courses, Genetically Modified crop testing laboratory and commercial production units of Bio-fertilizers & Tissue Culture Ornamental Plants. The College has done a collaboration with IIT, Mumbai under the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) – A project funded by MHRD, Govt. of India for e-learning.Since, its inception in the year 2003, the persistent efforts of the College in Rural education has been recognized by the Project Indywood and honored the College with Indywood Education Excellence Award - 2017 as "Institute of Excellence in Agriculture Studies" by the hands of Mrs. Sandhya Puttyah Jugnauth, Ministry of Arts and Culture, Mauritius at the Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.
