Today's student was born into a digital world. Growing up surrounded by mobile and computer technology, students now communicate — and learn — in a whole new way. Some experts refer to today's youth as the "iGeneration." Studies show that engaging the iGeneration is a growing challenge. A national survey was recently conducted of 500 students, ages 13-17, about their attitudes toward school and learning. They found that 42% of students were challenged by boredom and 46% were challenged by distractions from other students. Who benefits from online learning? Students looking for academic achievement, flexibility, and additional support may benefit from an online learning experience. Online learning is ideal for:• Students who have struggled to become engaged in the regular classroom or are easily distracted by their peers during instructional time.• Students looking for a high-quality alternative to their current school.• Students seeking flexibility in their school schedule.• Previously home-schooled students seeking an academically rigorous and accredited middle and high school education.• Students with medical issues who are homebound.www.cpa-stars.com (805)710-2328 Bonnie@cpa-stars.com
