The Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels (C2B2) is a consortia devoted to the conversion of biomass to fuels, chemicals and products. Center sponsors and researchers engage in inter-disciplinary and cross-institutional projects to develop advanced bioenergy technologies. Center collaboration facilitates networking and sponsored research opportunities among private industry, professional scientists, laboratories, and well-trained graduate and undergraduate students. C2B2 partner institutions include the US DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University, and Colorado School of Mines; each with complementary strengths in biofuel and biorefining applications. C2B2 industry sponsors include Chevron Technology Ventures, CoolPlanet Energy Systems, Gevo, Rentech, Shell Global Solutions, and Total American Services, among others. C2B2 sponsors gain access to over 150 researchers at four partner institutions via a single operational agreement.C2B2 is a research center of the Colorado Renewable Energy Collaboratory (www.coloradocollaboratory.org).
