Farming - Singapore, , Singapore
ComCrop, short for Community Crop, was started with the vision of finding creative solutions to feed our community with home-grown leafy greens that are pesticide-free, while providing meaningful employment to senior citizens, people with disabilities and the disadvantaged. Proving our urban farming vision, ComCrop's first rooftop farm was built at *Scape in the heart of Orchard Road's shopping district. At *Scape, we grow the tastiest Basil and Mint that are served in some of Singapore's leading restaurants and bars, all without the use of pesticides. Our produce is also available to the public via online retailers such at RedMart and Sproutfore. In partnership with Pope Jai Thai restaurant, ComCrop produces fresh pesto sauce that is sold at farmers markets around Singapore, and will soon be available on supermarket shelves all over the country. In line with our commitment to producing healthy products, our pesto sauce is free from fillers, pesticides and preservatives. ComCrop's second rooftop farm is currently under construction in Woodlands, and will span over 35,000 sq feet when complete. The new location will grow Asian vegetables as well as leafy greens for the Singapore domestic market. As our farms grow, and we cover more rooftops, we get closer towards fulfilling our larger mission of reducing Singapore's 90% dependance on imported overseas vegetables, and boost our home grown food supply. ComCrop's mission is to feed our community with healthy, nutritious crops, while providing meaningful employment for the community!
