HISTORYCometa was founded in Milan (Italy) in 2001 by a designers team with a long software/firmware/hardware experience, made in medical instruments design, extending from low level biological signal acquisition, data elaboration and representation.After several consultancies for the most prominent companies in the market, the first autonomous project, a completely wireless EMG system, was developed and patented in 2004. Several innovative solutions have been applied to this electromyograph system; starting from the most visible ones, the absence of the reference electrode, the miniaturization and autonomy of the electrodes, to several others technical solutions that lead to an unmatched clean and readable output EMG trace.The product was licensed to a third company that sold hundreds of units worldwide under the brand name "ZeroWire". At the end of 2010, the licensing agreement expired and Cometa began selling the renewed system directly, under the "Wave Wireless EMG" brand name.
