Consumer Goods - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
My name is Kevin Boyd, and I often go by the nickname of "kevthemev". I have been involved in producing comic book shows since 2003. Initially I produced the "Toronto Comicon" with Paradise Comics owner Peter Dixon, as well as some one day "Toronto Comic Book Supershow" events. In 2007 I left and went to work with Hobbystar Marketing as Comic Book Coordinator, working specifically with local creators and on community building. I did that until fall 2012. On February 2nd, 2012, Dragon Lady Comics & Paper Nostalgia closed it's doors after 33 years in business in Toronto on Queen and later College Streets. Less than a week later, I reopened as The Comic Book Lounge + Gallery at 587A College Street - just a few doors east of the old Dragon Lady location and carrying on as the local comics shop for the customers of the old store and residents of Toronto's Little Italy community on College Street. Until April 30, 2015 we operated n a shared space with like minded businesses like the Toronto Cartoonists Workshop, Guerilla Printing and the Temple of Toys. After that we went to a subscriptions only service and continued to sell comics and related merchandise at trade shows. In 2016 I merged the subscription business with ALL NEW COMICS, Inc. so I can concentrate on my work with Fan Expo HQ as their Comics Relations Coordinator for FanExpo and MegaCon Events across North America. The Comic Book Lounge + Gallery exists only as a trade show vendor as of January 2017, operating mostly in the Greater Toronto Area.Kevthemev's Comic Book Lounge is the business name I operate all of my operations under. Consulting, appraising, advising. info@comicbooklounge.comwww.comicbooklounge.com
