The purpose of the Commercial Finance League (CFL) is to bring together men and women actively engaged in the commercial finance field to foster a union on business and social plans and to promote an educational program for the benefit of the members individually, and the industry in general.The CFL is a fifty year old credit club whose members consist of senior executives from major banks and finance companies in the New York metropolitan area. The CFL's mission as a credit club is to provide a forum for lively discussions on industry concerns that impact the financial community including social, political and legal issues.The discussions are in a round table format and are informal. They are held at popular restaurants or clubs in New York City. Past guest speakers have included prominent attorneys from prestigious law firms as well as present and former government representatives. The speakers speak "pro bono" but enjoy a dinner and good company. Presenters generally talk for about 15 minutes and take questions afterwards. The spokesperson also participates in exciting deliberations with the CFL members and guests during the networking hour prior to the scheduled meeting.
