Publishing - N/A, N/A, US
Commonwealth Books of Virginia publishes about a dozen books a year. Our byline is: Where History, Philosophy, and Art Meet. We want to bring history to life. Our authors do this by creating 3-Dimensional impressions of things that have happened in times gone by. We call the method "non-fiction narration". In this mode of storytelling, readers accompany characters as they make history. We publish books in four series. Our Pocket Book Illustrated Histories focus on the colonial and revolutionary eras of America. Our Commonwealth Memoirs are autobiographies of fascinating individuals with unique accomplishments and experiences. Our Commonwealth Art Books present collected works of individual artists and collections from historical periods. In our Ideas in History Series, we recount how extraordinary ideas have formed, how they have moved from one place to another, and what happened as they did. We are interested in the past because it shines a light, which helps us see the future.
