Public Policy - Louisville, Kentucky, United States
Housed at the University of Louisville, a Carnegie Ranked R1 Research Institution, CPDC is a Think-Tank connecting the research of the university to public policy solutions as a public service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including elected members to the General Assembly. We are also capable of developing solutions for complementary Federal measures, and more locally for Louisville Metro Council. CPDC is organized as a not-for-profit LLC and 527 organization, and is also comprised of a faculty-sponsored student group at UofL allowing students from all backgrounds and from the undergraduate to pre-professional level to engage in professional ThinkTank policy development and legislative agent experience. It leverages faculty research and student involvement at UofL, translates this to policy development, then advocates for these policy solutions developed for both the Commonwealth at-large as well as metro Louisville. It balances practical development of a feasible and tailored policy-in-common of the entire CPDC organization in the state legislature with the concurrent individual works of each of its Fellows developed from their own interests. In the end, CPDC works to tailor new promises by and for the future of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
