From the humble beginnings of a two man operation in Atlanta, GA in the 1970's, Communities In Schools has exploded to serve 1.3 million students in nearly 30 states, with 200 local affiliates in cities across the country. In Delaware, the CIS program is currently offered at twelve schools throughout the state. By utilizing our 360˚ approach, each site directly serves approximately 65-100 students while also offering whole school services that address academic assistance, basic needs/resources, behavioral interventions, college and career preparation, community engagement and service learning, life skills and social development, family engagement, and professional mental and physical health referrals.
