What if there was a church that impacted the world beyond a Sunday morning worship service? What if that church didn't just GO to church but purposed to BE the church? What if they were so serious about their concept that they, once per month, didn't have a formal worship service? Instead, they purposed to impact a need in their community like the homeless? What if that church was a multi-gernerational church on the campus of Western Michigan University that was called to integrate college students in this mission? We are Community 318 and this is the concept that God has commissioned us with. We are both a non-denominational church and a registered student organization on the campus of Western Michigan University. We purpose to live out 1 John 3:18, a verse from the Bible that says,"Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and truth." This is where the "318" in our name comes from. We are a community whose focus is to live this scripture out in our relationships with each other and with the world around us.
