Community Connections of Jacksonville is one of the oldest and largest human services agencies in Northeast Florida. Founded in 1911 as the Young Women's Christian Association of Jacksonville (YWCA), we have been dedicated to helping impoverished families for more than a century.Since its inception, Community Connections has developed imaginative and resourceful strategies and community partnerships to meet the ever-changing and multifaceted needs of working homeless and low-income women, children and families in Northeast Florida. Our essential support services and transitional housing help develop self-sufficiency, and encourages our families to reach their full potential.Some of the programs offered include:• Transitional Housing through the Davis Center and the NE Florida Transition Housing Program• After-school programs at multiple Community Sites, Oak Hill, Normandy, Sable Palms and Davis.• Summer Camp programs at seven sites.• Child Development Center for children ages 6 weeks to kindergarten.• Healthy Families Jacksonville to support pregnant women and families with newborns.• Special Literacy. Workforce Readiness Programs and Life Skill Programs.Community Connections' mission is healing homelessness and fighting poverty, one life at a time.
