The Community Ethics Network (CEN), a membership-funded group, is a partnership of 43 community healthcare and support service organizations committed to advancing the practice of ethics in the community healthcare and support services sectors. By creating a network, healthcare organizations are able to come together to share their ideas, visions and resources to realize the common vision for building ethics infrastructure and organizational capacity in the community. The Network serves as a forum for promoting a consistent and transparent approach to ethical decision-making and for supporting the exchange of information. Ethics services and support are available to both community healthcare agencies and their front-line staff. The CEN offers organizational ethics seminars to leadership and management to help agencies build ethics capacity and implement ethics programs within the organization to enhance quality service. For front-line staff, the CEN offers conferences with workshops and other educational resources to increase staff awareness and understanding of community healthcare ethics, enable staff to identify when they are encountering ethical issues and resolve an ethical dilemma they are experiencing, and to provide a process for additional support and ongoing discussions. For more details on our mission, vision, goals and objectives, please click here.
