The Community Group Firefighters Association (CGFA) is a registered non-profit company formed late 2019. The association was established to raise funds for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), a group of registered reservists and dedicated volunteers assisting the City of Joburg (COJ) where needed. Over the past 3 years, these guys use their own funds to upskill themselves to be able to act as first responders, firefighters and clean-up crew when needed and follow the strict rules and regulations as set aside by the COJ. They do not act as EMS services nor assist with medical assistance.The RIT is a family of volunteers, who leaves their families whenever their community needs help. They are fortunate to have supporting wife's and girlfriends that support them in this crusade to change their community with a social positive attitude.Mission…The mission of the Rapid Intervention Team is to save lives and to protect property through fire and rescue, fire prevention and firefighting. When the community call, we jump in to help with professional, effective and compassionate services.
