Community Investors is a Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting the physical, social and emotional wellness of elementary, middle and high school students through the power of play.With staggering statistics published seemingly daily about depression and suicide rates in youth, and an ever-increasing dependency on screen time, Community Investors' mission is to get kids to unplug and play in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.Our PowerPlay Rox program is a unique blend of music-fueled fun for kids of all ages, genders and abilities that has been developed and refined over 30 years. Critical to our mission of play-based socio-emotional development, we foster and train middle school, high school and college students to coach and mentor the younger participants. As a result, all of our participants develop resiliency and empathy through the power of play. In 2020, we were honored to receive federal recognition by the US Department of Health & Human Services as a National Youth Sports Strategy Champion. Our organization was also recognized by Challenge Success co-founder Denise Pope, PhD, as a best practitioner of play.
