It took a couple of Architects, frustrated with the quality and costs involved with extending their family homes, to search for a new way of building. Everything they found close to home was either too complicated, too expensive or took too long to build. The search for an alternative took them to Europe, where a new approach was being pioneered. There, a house would be precisely manufactured piece by piece in the factory, packaged into a shipping container and sent anywhere in the world. Once it arrived at its final home, the house would be assembled in 2 weeks with little wastage and a clean site.Working closely with this technology, the Architects designed a couple of houses specifically tailored to Australia. They hit the targets of our standards, our construction and our climate. In the end, they had developed a high quality, sustainable and affordable alternative for Australia.Compact Haus was born
