Compass Catholic Community is a proposed, brand new, fee-free, co-educational Secondary School for young people aged 17 to 24, opening at Davoren Park, South Australia in January 2022.The school is a part of The Northern Adelaide Education and Services Village, Catholic Education SA's new 'village' for people in the Northern suburbs of Adelaide, who may have faced barriers to living a life that is meaningful to them. Compass Catholic Community will work to improve educational and other life outcomes for young people through adopting teaching and learning approaches different to mainstream school environments - centred on individualised, flexible and highly supported co-constructed learning opportunities that are based on student interest.Our community approach will harness strengths, with a focus on what people CAN do, and works to remove barriers to meaningful progress. We are a learning community built on the complete belief that all people can learn and be successful with the right tools, environment and resources.We will work to ensure that a person's socioeconomic status, environment and personal circumstances stop being a significant determinant of their educational outcomes.
