At Compu-Med Vocational Career Corporation, Miami area residents may obtain comprehensive career training in one of four occupations. Based in Hialeah, Florida with an additional campus in Miami, Compu-Med grants diplomas in Patient Care Technology, Computer Business Applications and Dental and Medical Assisting. Part of Compu-Med’s vocational training involves putting students to work in their field while they are still in school. These internships or externships are arranged through the school’s externship placement department and give students a chance to fine-tune their skills and meet individuals in their field. While they do not guarantee employment, Compu-Med does also provide assistance in the job search process through referrals and follow-ups.Anybody who is at least 18 years of age may attend Compu-Med. Those who did not graduate from high school may take an entrance exam for admission. Financial aid is available to those who qualify and is mostly based on financial need.
