Comrade's BBQ creates the best premium, handmade, small batch barbecue sauces and dry rubs in the Cleveland, Ohio area. A small company -- in fact, the owner is the only employee -- Comrade's barbecue sauces and dry rubs have limited availability at only three retail locations and some local events, including the Cleveland Flea. \\The product line is custom designed, handmade and hand bottled by the owner at Cleveland Culinary Launch and Kitchen, a shared kitchen space in Cleveland. These products include Comrade's Original, a thick, smoky and spicy tribute to Kansas City sauce with a cumin and cinnamon twist; Kill Devil, a hot cider vinegar based Eastern Carolina pulled pork mop and dipping sauce; and Muscle Shoals, a rare North Alabama sauce with a mayonnaise and lemon juice base, perfect with grilled chicken.\\Comrade's uses organic and/or local ingredients where available, and uses top notch ingredients such as Lea & Perrins Worcestershire, organic agave nectar, Spanish paprika, and Vietnamese cinnamon elsewhere. Instead of aspiring to market domination, \\Comrade's is a slow growth local company seeking primarily to encourage local food culture, shopping independent small businesses, and rekindling the love of tending the smoker to make great food the old fashioned way... low and slow. This means you will only find Comrade's products at local events, in small, independent shops, and on rare occasions, in small quantities via Amazon. If you see someone selling Comrade's at your local farmer's market, that's the owner... and he'd love for you to try a sample!
