Health, Wellness and Fitness - Thousand Oaks, California, United States
In 1964 a group of local community leaders founded the Southeast Ventura County YMCA and opened our first branch on property in Conejo Valley which was donated by western movie star Joel McCrea. This location is now the Conejo Valley branch. The Conejo Valley Y began its service to the community with a one room building on top of Conejo's property built by volunteers known as the Y's Men. Over forty five years later the Conejo Valley Y has grown into a full facility with an enclosed pools with both a lap and warm-water pool, fitness center, sports field, multi-purpose room, aerobics studio, child watch and 3 off-site child care locations. Our 35 acres of property serves as the perfect location for day camp with a climbing wall, archery range and low ropes course. The Conejo Valley YMCA's history is rich in providing programs such as: swim lessons, Indian Guides, Resident Camp, Youth & Government and Model United Nations.
