The Conflict, Security & Development Conference is organised by postgraduate students from the Departments of War Studies and International Development (DID) at King's College London. The 8th annual two-day conference will take place across 10 and 11 June 2021. The title of this year's conference is: "The Violence of Global Inequalities: Symptoms of A Greater Disease". Despite the quantum leap in knowledge and technology, inequality is pervasive in all spheres - something that COVID19 is only exacerbating. Far from just physical, violence should also be understood as the long-term impact of these structural inequalities on individuals and communities around the world. The harmful consequences of persisting inequality are especially visible in societies experiencing conflict or immediately after, when stability is scarse. We warmly invite you to join us for two days of insightful talks on inequalities and its relationship with critical issues such as gender, climate change and conflict. The ticket includes free access to five unique discussions amongst prominent thinkers from top-range universities, leading think-tanks, NGOs and international organisations, along with the keynote speech by Sanam Naraghi-Arderlini (LSE Centre for Women, Peace & Security).
