Confucius Institute is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the study of Chinese language and culture around the world, so as to enhance the world's understanding of Chinese language, as well as to promote educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries.As China's economy and interaction with world have experienced rapid growth, there has also been a sharp increase in the demand for learning Chinese. The first Confucius Institute was opened in 2004. By the end of the December 2018, there are 525 Confucius Institutes and 1113 Confucius Classrooms located in 146 countries. These Confucius Institutes offer wide range of services to the local community, such as teaching Chinese language, providing Chinese teaching textbooks and other teaching resources, and training local teachers in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, In addition, we offer seminars on various aspects of Chinese culture, as well as providing consulting services for companies who wish to do business in China. Furthermore, the Confucius Institute administer the internationally – recognized HSK (Chinese proficiency test) and YCT (Chinese proficiency test to young learners) exams (similar to the TOEFL exams for English).
