Connecting Generations provides the tools that children need to become emotionally strong, resilient, and socially competent individuals who can successfully navigate school and life. Connecting Generations is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1990 by retired DuPont executive Robert Kasey as Creative Grandparents. As our programs evolved, the name of the organization changed from Creative Grandparenting to Connecting Generations. CGI offers Social Emotional Learning programs to youth across the state via its Character Building/SEL Workshops and Mentoring program:Creative Mentoring (CM) offers the only statewide, free mentor training program. The training is available to any adult interested in mentoring youth in Delaware. The program is supporting more than 90 site-based mentoring programs statewide. There are more than 1,000 mentors currently mentoring in CM Partner Programs.Piloted in 2006, our Character Building/SEL Workshops offer interactive experiences where children learn the 5 core competencies of SEL as well as how to behave with respect toward peers and others.
