Conscious Collectivism™ is: A WORLDVIEW celebrating interdependence & interconnection as the heartbeat of our existence. An INQUIRY into how the ‘myth of individualism' perpetuates through leadership development, pop-wisdom, and self-help culture.A CALL to nurture our desire for growth (aka professional development) by, with, in, and for community. ................................Hi, I'm Sara, founder of the Conscious Collectivist™. I launched this practice in response to my discontents as a US-based woman of color in the business sector. I was FULLY immersed in the "leadership development" and "self-help" workshop circuit...until I realized that so much of what I was consuming was simply designed to help people like me, and others from historically excluded communities, "fit in" better.I endeavored to explore, consider, offer, and collaborate on other ways of approaching "leadership development." I started looking more deeply into my own familial and cultural traditions and those of other non-white/Eurocentric communities. From that exploration the Conscious Collectivist/Conscious Collectivism was born. My facilitated conversations and workshops (which include poetry, creative writing, and media clips) cover topics such as: Unpacking the self-care industrial complexElevating, naming, and shaping our collectives Moving beyond "confidence"/cultivating "consciousness" Debunking "imposter syndrome" Moving beyond "confidence"/cultivating "consciousness"Debunking myths: "imposter syndrome" "executive presence" "purpose" "external validation"Discerning dysfunction: Is it the system or self?Symbols and tools for resilience and resistanceI also provide consultations for educators, coaches, and organizations interested in re-envisioning their leadership and personal development curriculum/approaches. I also offer support in designing rituals to honor and witness collective and individual healing.
