Our mission as a social futurist is to help clients and employers anticipate significant changes that lie ahead in order to influence and manage those changes to achieve their long-term goals.Since long-term predictive forecasts are rarely accurate, futurists describe alternative plausible and preferable futures, in addition to the expected future. Instead of limiting themselves to traditional forecasters' quantitative methods, futurists also use a balance of qualitative and quantitative tools. Professional futurists emphasise systemic and transformational change as opposed to traditional forecasters and planners who focus on incremental change based on existing conditions and trends.The underlying principle is that while nobody can truly PREDICT THE FUTURE, good planning should consider a range of possibilities to better prepare you for a variety of possible future outcomes.
